Nov 22,2008 On Saturday night, The Beijinger gathered about 300 persons at the Tsingtao Beer Palace in Solana for a “Tsingtao Brewery Tour and Tasting”. Attendees enjoyed all the fresh Tsingtao beer they could drink from 7pm to 10pm and a tour of the Tsingtao beer Palace’s microbrewery. They also won the Beijinger prizes taking the Tsingtao Draft vs Bottle taste test and some challenged themselves in a beer-drinking contest to win vouchers kindly offered by the Tsingtao Beer Palace for… more beer at the Tsingtao Beer Palace!

Nov 9,2008 The opening of the Common Ground Digital Art Exhibition took place at Huan Tie Art Museum. The exhibition aims to increase awareness and raise funds for environmental organizations by showcasing the works of 1,000 artists from 40 countries. Nonprofit partners include the World Wildlife Fund, Global Giving and the Global Environmental Institute. More details here.

November 8, 2008 The 2nd annual Pride in Beijing Fun Run was held on Nov 8th at Dragon Bay Villa in Shunyi near the International School of Beijing. This year’s Fun Run attracted four times more people than the year before. 300 runners took part in different races, and over 400 people were gathered at the height of the event! Events included 10k/5K run, 2km run-walk and a 500M kids bicycle race. Post race festivities included student rockbands, kids games, food, as well as etiquette reminder cards. All money raised will go towards the Pride Project, an initiative from the non-profit organization, the Pride Institute. Their aim is to encourage courtesy and promote positive peer pressure in day-to-day life.
