At first glance, The Click Five seems like a typical boy band. They’ve garnered a large adolescent girl fan base. They’ve even toured with the Backstreet Boys. Look closer, though, and you’ll see that they aren’t exactly completely in sync with the conventional boy band idea. All five members attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston (where the band has been based since their formation in 2005). They’ve produced music with KISS rocker Paul Stanley and Fountain of Wayne’s singer Adam Schlesinger. And though their previous two albums were power-pop anthems for giddy, lovesick listeners, their new LP (out sometime next year), should have “more surprises.” Look out for Jessica Pan's interview with their lead guitarist in the December issue of the Beijinger magazine. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.cn or by calling 400 707 9999. RMB 200, RMB 500 (VIP).

When even the director of a film admits that he's "very unhappy with the film," and that he "never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience" it's not surprising that what emerges is an incomprehensible and unwatchable film. Its chances at the box office will probably not be helped by the fact that it's been available on DVD in the capital for weeks. You can take a look at some of the terrible reviews of the French-US co production here. View the trailer here. For details about screening times see our regular Tuesday film roundup over at the Beijinger blog.
