not worth your money!

I expected this to be "state of the art" only to find it is far from it. We saw the 4D movie which was over before it began and much funnier than it was educational or interesting. A waste of time and money.

*Everything in this museum is in Chinese. Not english friendly.

Authetic Pricey

I really liked this place. The service was good the menu was excellent, the food was great. Unfortunately the prices were high and sometimes made little sense to me. I suppose some of the ingredients are more expensive than others so some dishes are disproportionately expensive.

Something wrong with some of the tofu as I got very sick shortly after eating on of their wraps.

I recently discovered this very difficult to find cafe after a lengthy search. On my arrival the assistants had to be awoken from their deep slumber by the owner. I then had to wait 40 minutes for a drink. This was because they had run out of milk and their helper had to run to the shop. I then waited another 40 minutes for a crepe as they had also run out of jam. The helper ran out again. Eventually my order came. The crepe and the drink were o.k. and I was given some bits of chocolate to try. I understand why all the Chinese customers just drank tea.

It's a shame about the service as the menu looks great. Why not have plates of assorted chocolates and waffles? we would also love it in an easier to find location. Oh and don't forget the milk.

great eats, good atmosphere, good restaurant

i have to say that i really enjoyed this restaurant. the tapas are quite big, so it is a good value for your money. they are also really tasty; good ingredients. although, they do use white, sourdough bread for everything tapas that we ordered, so that was a bit strange.

the entrees were nothing extraordinary. they were a good size and tasted fine, but not amazing.

the desserts were not out of the world fantastic but they were really good.

we brought our own bottle of wine and they charged an 80RMB corkage fee for that.

the negative that i experienced is that, my partner and i ordered 3 things on the menu and were told that none of those could be made because they; didn't have chicken, didn't have the special cookies for the tapas, and the oven was broken so they couldn't make that specific item. - for such a classy and expensive restaurant, to have 3 items in one meal that can't be served seems to suggest that there is a problem.

the atmosphere feels very modern and clean; kind of like an art gallery. personally, i didn't feel like it's the kind of place for a romantic dinner, but others may feel otherwise.

with that being said; i had a great experience here and would recommend it.

ahah 5 stars! reviewed by itself.
the place is a joke, it notably serves fake booze, and will give you the headache of your life. unless you limit yourself to overpriced beer.
and it's full of obnoxious boring french.

This is a nice sandwich place with a bright and comfortable environment and good quality ingredients, set at standard expat-prices (i.e. ¥¥¥). The service tends to not be overly annoying and they don't seem to mind you camping out with a laptop for a few hours over some coffee to do some work.

The sanlitun beixiaojie branch is a far too often a madhouse, but the new Sanlitun Village store seems a bit more manageable thus far.

Kudos to the kitchen for having a great selection of authentic-feeling stuff such as mortadella, good salamis, tasty cheeses, and pepperoncinos.

The big complaint I have with this place is that the sandwiches, while built with very nice ingredients and very authentic bread, seem to be almost entirely made up of said bread, which might very well be large enough to feed a family of four for a day. We always find that we have to put a tonne of the provided side salad or ketchup inside the sandwich to finally start registering some flavour other than "really bread-y".

The coffee here is good, although at some point they switched from Lavazza to Illy, so it's now a slightly darker roasted coffee. French fries and regular drinks here are nice, and the wine isn't too outrageously priced.

Cut the bread in half, but keep the filling the same amount, and you'd have equally filling and notably more satisfying sandwiches.

For now, we'll continue going to Bocata -- which has a much better balanced sandwich -- for good food, and we'll keep coming back to Panino Teca for a more "Italian" feeling lunch with some coffee and wine.

Good but...

Very good place for live music, but only one very very bad point that annoys me every time I go : you cannot check your jacket, they have no storage service. Which is kind of embarassing when it's -10 degrees outside, and 35 degress inside, and you have to attend a punk concert with a polar parka. Smile
