Beijing Planetarium 北京天文馆新馆

Having spent RMB 300 million on a new building, the once-retro planetarium now boasts state-of-the-art facilities. The SGI Digital Universe Theater takes patrons on a tour of the cosmos with six Carl Zeiss laser projectors that simulate the movement of stars and constellations. You can also travel through time in the 4D theater, where you’ll strap on a pair of goggles and watch a multi-dimensional film about the creation of the solar system and evolution of life on earth, replete with snarling T-rexes and saber-toothed tigers. Where does the fourth dimension come from? We don’t want to spoil the surprise but the experience terrified our three-year olds. Other draws include the 3D space shuttle simulator and a cool exhibit about the sun.

I expected this to be "state of the art" only to find it is far from it. We saw the 4D movie which was over before it began and much funnier than it was educational or interesting. A waste of time and money.
