For years now we’ve been sending out our weekly 7 Days in Beijing e-mail newsletter on Thursday evenings - although sometimes it doesn't go out until early Friday morning. In every issue of the comprehensive guide to what’s going on in Beijing over the coming week, we also attach a bunch of useful info, the latest reviews and a trivia challenge in the left sidebar. We also include a list of the best links that we’ve come across over the past week. The list below was taken from the bumper two-week October Holiday issue of 7 days. Beijing is a city on steroids. Now that the Olympics are over and the development of the city can start to pursue a track that is more related to the needs of its citizens, the non-stop destruction and construction continues. It often feels a lot like Sim City, add an opera house here, a new library there, how about a new airport out there somewhere, maybe four more subway lines there and how about we divert some water from that neighboring province over there. So, although it's not the first site to do it, it seems timely to take a look at this Simcity-style map of Beijing.
